Position Description:
The Baker Resources Coalition (BRC) is seeking up to five high school students (16+) for its 2024 Summer Internship Program. This is an opportunity to explore different facets of natural resource management. You will work on projects assisting land managers, gain insights into roles natural resources serve in meeting community needs, and learn practical skills in forest, watershed, and wildlife management. For each project you will work under the direction of a landowner, manager, or specialist who will share their knowledge, skills, and most importantly, their love for the outdoors. This is an 11-week internship with compensation of $16.50 per hour. Interns will work 5 days a week, approximately 6 hours per day, with an additional hour of pay provided if project sites exceed 30 minutes of travel from Baker City. You must provide your own transportation to and from project sites!
If selected for this internship, will attend orientation on Friday, June 7th, for a briefing of work schedule, planned projects, project locations, host’s expectations, your work schedule, and other pertinent information. You must arrive on time at each project, be ready to work hard, learn, and have fun.
