Accomplishments:

All 2024 interns received 6 college credits through Treasure Valley Community College for completing the program.​​

 

Interns completed wildfire mitigation on seven properties over five weeks in the Wildland-Urban Interface, significantly reducing the wildfire risk on these sites.

​​

Interns installed three wildlife-friendly fences and numerous Beaver Dam Analogs along Camp Creek in collaboration with the Powder Basin Watershed.

​​

Interns recorded data on over 30 East Face Monitoring Plots in the Elkhorn Mountains for the La Grande District, Wallowa Whitman National Forest.

Interns learned lasting hard and soft skills that will stay with them throughout their lives.
