2026 Summer Steward Project Hosts

• April Bowers – Forest management, thinning, and chipping projects.
• Gayle & Bret Combs – Riparian cleanup, hardwood management, and stream corridor restoration.
• Deon Strommer – Wildfire mitigation, forest management, and chipping.
• S. Ewing (April Bowers) – Wildfire mitigation and forest management.
• Heather Nelson – Forest management, thinning, limbing, and chipping.
• Judy Baker – Wildfire mitigation and forest management.
• Nicole Sullivan – Forest management, regeneration removal, thinning, limbing, and chipping.
• Pat & Jim Braughm – Riparian restoration and stream cleanup.
• Powder Basin Watershed Council (PBWC) – Students assist with beaver habitat restoration by constructing protective fencing for willow stands and establishing water monitoring stations to support watershed health and long-term stream restoration efforts.
• Wallowa Resources – Students work alongside forestry professionals to establish and monitor multiparty forest monitoring plots, collect field data, and contribute to long-term forest health and restoration research.
